What we have seen on the previous pages is the extensive use made of patterns in mathematics, and indeed in the wider world. It seems that they are everywhere - we look for patterns or trends of numbers in Statistics, building work depends on the Tessellation of bricks, and some algebraic expressions are derived from initially examining number patterns.
Patterns have fascinated mankind for thousands of years. Trying to find explanations or new sets of rules for unusual situations has always been one of the more interesting branches of Mathematics. And in the years to come, without doubt, many other patterns will be discovered - and these, unquestionably, will lead to yet more unanswered questions.
